AGM Resolutions
At the 2007 AGM three proposals were discussed.
· That non-members should be allowed to play in all Simultaneous Pairs events. After extensive discussion, an amendment was agreed by a large majority to allow a member to play with a guest at Simultaneous Pairs, but to continue to bar visiting pairs from playing.
· That the 4-minute warning should be restored in order to speed up play. Again, strong views were expressed on both sides of the argument, but the meeting agreed to continue the present system, with the director calling the movement at his discretion, but the meeting also encouraged the directors to warn persistent slow players (which is current policy in TBC and other clubs).
-
That cutting for NS/EW should be discontinued. In the discussion it was noted that in some movements there were rather few sitting pairs, and the position of sitting pairs could be varied by the table numbering. An amendment was agreed that for some movements (Mitchell and Howell for larger numbers of tables) the Director could request cutting for NS/EW.
Electronic submission of Master Points
- Printing of Master Points was discontinued in November 2007.
They will now be submitted electronically to the EBU 4 - 6 times per year.
